I got booked to perform at the launch of the all-new 2026 BMW iX3 50 xDrive at Canterbury BMW alongside world-class DJ Claire Elliott. Here are 4 things I do at product launches to keep the energy high and the attention on the brand.

🎯 Tip 1: Read the Room

Start soft. Let them settle in. Then build as the room fills up. Claire would bring the energy on the decks, I'd match it on sax. We fed off each other. The key is patience — not every moment needs to be 100% hype. Let the energy curve rise naturally as the event progresses.

🎯 Tip 2: Use Movement

Don't stay in one spot. Walk the room. Approach groups, play near the product (in this case, right next to the iX3), create photo-worthy moments that guests will share on social media. Movement keeps the experience dynamic and gives photographers and videographers different angles to work with.

🎯 Tip 3: Match the Brand's Vibe

BMW is premium, sleek, modern. The music choices, the volume level, your presentation style — everything should reflect the brand you're representing. For a luxury product launch, every detail matters. Your presence is part of the brand experience.

🎯 Tip 4: Create Shareable Moments

The best brand activations generate organic social media content. When guests are filming you playing next to a $110K car, they're creating free marketing for the brand. Make sure you're giving them moments worth capturing — and tagging.

The Gear

For this activation I used my wireless saxophone setup, allowing complete freedom of movement around the showroom floor. The ability to walk between groups, play beside the vehicle, and interact directly with guests made the performance feel immersive rather than distant.
